Vitamin D3 Drops by Edubily
Vitamin D3 is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in the body. It contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus, thereby playing a key role in maintaining healthy bones. The body needs vitamin D to utilize calcium efficiently. Vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function and the normal function of the immune system.
Edubily uses only a few ingredients in its vitamin D line: it contains only cholecalciferol (vitamin D) and coconut-based MCT oil, with no other additives. Easy to dose with the dropper. Also available in a 20 ml size.

Frequently asked questions and answers from Edubily
Is vitamin D3 vegetarian or vegan?
Vitamin D3 is vegetarian but not vegan. It is derived from wool fat (lanolin) from sheep.
Can I add vitamin D3 to food or drinks?
Theoretically, yes, but taking it orally is preferable. This allows vitamin D3 to be absorbed through the mucous membranes, which can promote more effective absorption.
How much vitamin D is in food?
Vitamin D is found only in very small amounts in the diet; in most cases, it can cover only 10–20% of daily requirements. Foods containing significant amounts of vitamin D include fatty fish (such as salmon, herring, and mackerel).
It is nearly impossible to meet one’s vitamin D needs through diet alone.
Isn't it enough just to spend time in the sun?
In our latitudes, the intensity of sunlight between October and March is not sufficient to produce enough vitamin D. Taking supplements may therefore be advisable.
How long do the vitamin D stores from the summer last?
In short: not at all. Studies show that vitamin D levels in Europe are insufficient, especially during the winter months. A 2015 study by the Robert Koch Institute found that 80% of Germans do not even reach the recommended 20 ng/ml—and levels of 30 ng/ml are even rarer. Despite this clear deficiency, the problem is often downplayed in Germany.
What is the optimal vitamin D level?
The recommended optimal vitamin D levels vary depending on the source. According to the Robert Koch Institute, a level of approximately 20 ng/ml (50 nmol/l) is considered sufficient. However, several professional societies, including the Endocrine Society, as well as vitamin D pioneer Michael F. Holick (recent publication in Nature), recommend at least 30 ng/ml (75 nmol/l) to maximize the positive effects on calcium, bone, and muscle metabolism.
How does body weight affect the vitamin D dose?
Body weight has a direct impact on vitamin D requirements. First, adipose tissue can act as a “storage site” for vitamin D, reducing its availability in the blood. Second, the need for vitamin D increases with body mass. Studies show that severely obese individuals require up to two to three times more vitamin D, while those who are overweight should, on average, aim for about 50% more.
How much vitamin D should one-year-olds be given?
A recent scientific article in the prestigious journal *Nature* recommends a daily intake of 400 to 1,000 IU for infants up to one year of age. For babies and children, we also carry aspecially formulated supplement from Edubily in our product range. This makes it safe and easy to administer to children.
Is it possible to overdose on vitamin D?
Theoretically, yes, but in practice this is rare. Vitamin D is one of the safest vitamins, as it is naturally produced in very high amounts in the skin during the summer through sun exposure. A dose of about 10,000 IU, which is often considered high, can be produced by the skin in just a few minutes. The body therefore has mechanisms to handle high amounts. Nevertheless, very high doses of over 10,000 IU per day should be avoided over extended periods.
Does vitamin D need to be combined with vitamin K2?
Not essential, but recommended. Vitamin D influences the production of vitamin K-dependent proteins. Taking an additional supplement of K2 may therefore be beneficial. In our product range, you’ll find a separate vitamin K1 & K2 supplement, as well as 2-in-1 vitamin D3 and K2 drops.
Is it safe to take vitamin D3 during pregnancy?
Yes! Studies show that up to 4,000 IU per day is safe.
