Why is there a white layer on my protein bar? Is it mold?
Don’t worry, the white layer on the chocolate coating is not mold, but a harmless phenomenon called fat bloom. Fat bloom can occur when the bar is exposed to temperatures above 25 °C for a longer period of time, for example during transport in summer. The fat in the chocolate can shift slightly and rise to the surface. When it cools down, it crystallizes there and becomes visible as a fine, white layer. This is purely visual and has no effect on the product’s quality, taste, or safety. To avoid this, cool and dry storage is recommended, ideally below 20 °C.
Is the bar really made without added sugar?
Yes. The bar contains no added table sugar. Plant-based stevia and maltitol, a sugar alcohol, are used for sweetness.
Is the bar also suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
