Whey protein is available in three main forms: whey concentrate, whey isolate and whey hydrolysate. The product presented here is based on pure whey isolate. Compared with whey concentrate, which, in addition to a high protein content, also contains more fat, carbohydrates and lactose, whey isolate is produced through additional filtration. This reduces the proportion of fat and carbohydrates and increases the protein content. Whey hydrolysate, in turn, is a form in which the protein structure is enzymatically modified – an alternative processing form of whey.
