So your knee does not get cold during heavy sets
By the third set of squats, the joint often feels stiff, and that is exactly when depth is lost. The sleeve keeps warmth in the joint and applies even compression around it. You can get deeper and stand back up with more control instead of cutting the rep short halfway.
5 mm is the compromise between support and mobility
Five millimetres of neoprene provide noticeable support without holding you back when jumping or cleaning. This is the thickness for athletes who lift, jump, and run in the same workout. If you only squat as heavy as possible, go for the 7 mm version.
Application tips
Put the sleeve on so that the middle sits over the kneecap, not below it. When new, the sleeves fit very tightly; this is intentional and will ease after a few training sessions. Hang up to dry after training, never put in the tumble dryer, otherwise the neoprene will lose its rebound.
Size chart
