Vitasauri® Kids Iron – gentle support for iron balance

Iron is essential for children's development – but not every iron supplement is well tolerated. Vitasauri® Kids Iron uses iron bisglycinate, lactoferrin, and vitamin C for optimal bioavailability without gastrointestinal discomfort.

Why do children need iron?

Iron is one of the most important trace elements in the body. It plays a central role in supplying cells with oxygen, cognitive development, and energy production. Iron deficiency can manifest through symptoms such as tiredness, concentration problems, pale skin, and susceptibility to infections. Children in growth phases are particularly at risk, especially those who eat little to no meat, or have reduced iron absorption in the intestine due to, for example, celiac disease or inflammatory bowel diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that one in five children aged 0 to 4 years in industrialized countries is affected by iron deficiency.

Iron is essential for the healthy development of a child. The importance of this nutrient is also reflected in the many approved health claims:

  • Iron contributes to normal cognitive development
  • It supports the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin
  • Iron plays a role in energy metabolism and cell division
  • It contributes to the normal function of the immune system
  • Helps reduce tiredness and fatigue
  • Supports normal oxygen transport in the body

High-quality formula for best tolerability

The innovative combination of ingredients ensures that the dosage of iron bisglycinate can be kept as low as possible while maintaining maximum bioavailability. This keeps it effective and optimally tolerated.

  • Iron bisglycinate: A highly bioavailable form of iron as a chelate complex with glycine. This form is absorbed particularly well because it can be taken up via amino acid transporters and is also gentle on the stomach.
  • Lactoferrin: A natural iron transport protein that increases absorption in the intestine and helps deliver iron specifically to the cells. Studies show that lactoferrin can improve iron absorption by more than 50%.
  • Vitamin C from acerola: Improves iron absorption many times over by making it easier to convert trivalent iron into divalent iron, which the body can utilise better. This means that even small amounts of vitamin C, between 50 and 100 mg, are said to improve iron absorption by up to 400 %.

Sugar-free & tasty – perfect for children

Iron should not only be effective, but also pleasant to take - especially for children. This iron supplement has strawberry fruit powder and a subtle natural flavour added. It is sweetened with stevia instead of sugar. This means you can give the iron powder to your child without any problems, because it tastes deliciously fruity and can be stirred into water on its own or mixed into food.

Frequently asked questions & answers from Edubily

Why might my child need extra iron in addition to their diet?

Iron deficiency is widespread worldwide, even in industrialised countries. Children with a vegetarian or vegan diet, premature babies, or children with certain digestive issues have a higher risk of insufficient iron supply. Targeted supplementation can help optimally support iron levels.

Has the iron been tested for heavy metals?

Yes! Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory. You can request the test reports from us.

What is lactoferrin and why is it included?

Lactoferrin is a protein that occurs naturally in milk. It binds iron and promotes its targeted absorption in the body. Studies have shown that lactoferrin can increase iron absorption by over 50 % while also being especially well tolerated.

Is the product lactose-free?

Yes! Although lactoferrin comes from milk, it contains no milk sugar (lactose), making it suitable for people with lactose intolerance. However, people with extremely sensitive intolerance should consult a doctor before taking it.

What is the best way to take the iron powder?

The recommended dosage is 2 level scoops (1 g powder) daily. Simply stir into 100 ml water or another liquid, or add to food. It can be taken with or without meals.

Why does it contain vitamin C?

Vitamin C significantly increases the bioavailability of iron by helping convert iron into a form that is more easily absorbed. Even small amounts of vitamin C can increase iron absorption by up to 400%. In addition, vitamin C supports the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress.

Is the iron powder vegan?

No, because it contains lactoferrin, which is derived from milk. However, it is vegetarian and contains no animal-derived ingredients apart from the milk protein.
