Iron bisglycinate – a special iron compound
In Edubily iron capsules, iron is provided in the form of iron bisglycinate – a so-called chelate compound in which iron is bound to the amino acid glycine. Such complexes are considered stable and are frequently described in scientific literature in connection with iron absorption. Lactoferrin and vitamin C for iron absorption
Lactoferrin is considered an iron-binding protein that may play a role in transporting iron to the cells. Specific receptors have also been identified in the intestine that could interact with lactoferrin. What is the best way and time to take iron?
The time of day does not matter, but we recommend taking the capsules at least 30 minutes before a meal. Take two capsules daily, swallowed whole, with sufficient liquid.
As there are indications that coffee, tea, and alcohol could block iron absorption, it is recommended to avoid these drinks shortly before and after taking iron.
Why do the capsules turn dark after some time?
The dark discoloration is completely normal and harmless. Iron bisglycinate reacts with humidity and changes its color as a result. This has no impact on the quality of the capsules.
What is lactoferrin?
Lactoferrin is a protein obtained from milk or whey and is therefore a natural component of breast milk and cow's milk.
Don't worry if you are lactose intolerant! It does not contain lactose.
Can I combine the Multi with iron?
