Gut Flora Complex – Your support for healthy gut flora

This Gut Flora Complex powder is a carefully designed blend of seven well-researched bacterial strains and resistant dextrin, a valuable prebiotic. The combination of the probiotic bacterial blend with the prebiotic fiber (dextrin) has a positive effect on the gut microbiome. In addition, the powder contains biotin, which helps maintain normal intestinal mucosa.

Why is gut flora so important?

The gut flora, also known as the microbiota, comprises the wide variety of microorganisms that colonize our gut. It influences not only digestion, but also the immune system, energy metabolism, and even mental health. A balanced gut flora is essential for your well-being. The beneficial bacteria help improve nutrient absorption, modulate the immune system, and regulate inflammation.

The diversity and functionality of the gut flora is determined not only by the bacteria present, but also by their nutrition. In order for them to multiply and perform their tasks optimally, they need a suitable food source – just like we do. These are the fibers, also known as prebiotics: They are indigestible food components that serve as valuable nourishment for the good gut residents.

The perfect combination of probiotics and prebiotics

With the Gut Flora Complex, you get a high-quality blend of probiotic bacterial strains and the ideal “food” for these microorganisms.

The included fiber, resistant dextrin (RS4) from corn, not only serves as food for the gut flora, but also promotes the production of short-chain fatty acids. These special fatty acids strengthen the gut barrier, modulate the immune system, and even influence the gut-brain axis, which is becoming an increasingly important field of research.

Each serving (3 g) contains 2.7 g of fiber and a combination of seven scientifically studied bacterial strains with a total of 2 billion colony-forming units (CFU):

  • Lactobacillus reuteri – Known for its ability to form the antimicrobial compound reuterin. Supports gut health, promotes a strong gut barrier and has anti-inflammatory properties (also in the mouth).
  • Streptococcus thermophilus – Makes lactose digestion easier and can therefore minimize digestive discomfort caused by dairy products. Helps strengthen the immune system and prevent harmful bacteria from colonizing the gut.
  • Bifidobacterium lactis – One of the most versatile bifidobacteria; supports the immune system and strengthens the gut barrier. May have a soothing effect on digestive issues.
  • Bifidobacterium longum – Ideal for people with sensitive guts - can relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Helps promote healthy gut flora and supports the digestive process.
  • Bifidobacterium infantis – An essential strain for early childhood immune system development and healthy digestion. Especially important in the first years of life, but also remains beneficial for adults.
  • Lactobacillus plantarum – A particularly versatile microorganism with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Contributes to gut health by crowding out unwanted germs and improving digestion.
  • Bifidobacterium adolescentis – Plays a key role in carbohydrate metabolism and helps reduce inflammation in the gut. It supports a healthy balance of the gut flora.

New: Bifidobacterium adolescentis – a promising bacterial species

B. adolescentis has been identified in recent human studies as a key factor in regulating body weight. This bacterial species occurs naturally in the gut and is known for its positive effects on metabolism.

Scientific studies show that B. adolescentis strains:

  • Can metabolize prebiotics such as arabinoxylan, XOS and GOS
  • Produce acetic acid and lactic acid, which support important metabolic functions
  • Can promote the production of GABA (a neurotransmitter that reduces stress)
  • Synthesize B vitamins such as folic acid
  • Can support the growth of other beneficial bifidobacteria

Thanks to these properties, B. adolescentis is a valuable component of the Gut Flora Complex.

What makes the Gut Flora Complex stand out?

The powder dissolves excellently, has a slightly sweet taste, and is versatile to use. It can be easily mixed into foods and drinks – ideal for daily use.

The combination of probiotics and prebiotics enables an optimal effect: the microorganisms are fed directly, allowing them to multiply and produce valuable short-chain fatty acids. In addition, the biotin it contains contributes to the normal function of the intestinal mucosa and energy metabolism.

Frequently asked questions & answers from Edubily

There are black specks in the powder? What are they?

This is completely normal. The black specks are freeze-dried probiotics that are included intentionally and do not affect the quality of the product.

The powder gives me bloating – is that normal?

Yes, this is a normal reaction to fiber, as it is broken down by gut bacteria and gases can be produced in the process. If the bloating is unpleasant, it is recommended to increase the intake slowly or reconsider the approach.

Switching to the capsules may be an option if you have reacted sensitively to the Complex powder.

What is the difference compared to the gut bacteria capsules?

While the Gut Flora Complex is ideal for people with a healthy digestive system, the capsules were developed specifically for people with more sensitive guts.

The powder contains prebiotics such as resistant dextrin, which serves as valuable food for the good gut bacteria. However, these types of fibers can cause discomfort such as bloating if digestive issues or irritable bowel already exist. People who are particularly sensitive to fermentable fibers (FODMAPs) may have difficulty tolerating the powder.

The capsules, on the other hand, contain only a small amount of apple fiber powder, which serves as a well-tolerated alternative. Unlike inulin, which is found in many probiotics and often causes digestive discomfort, the capsules are designed to be as gentle on the gut as possible.

Ultimately, the dosage form is also a matter of personal preference: while the powder can be flexibly mixed into drinks or food, the capsules offer easy intake with no extra effort.
