Citrulline Plus – More performance, better circulation, optimal recovery

Citrulline Plus by Edubily combines high-quality citrulline malate with vitamin C, folic acid, B12, glycine, taurine, and pomegranate extract. This well-designed formula supports nitric oxide (NO) production and promotes better circulation. That means: more oxygen and nutrients for your muscles, less fatigue, and faster recovery – perfect for ambitious athletes.

The discovery of nitric oxide – a milestone in science

In 1998, the scientists Ignarro, Furchgott, and Murad received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for their discovery of nitric oxide (NO) as the body's own signaling molecule. NO is formed in the blood vessels and regulates their width – it ensures improved circulation and contributes to vascular health.

In the last 10-20 years, medical science has published impressive results on NO. High NO levels not only support cardiovascular health, but also improve oxygen supply to the muscles and optimize energy provision. This means NO plays a central role in athletic performance and overall well-being.

A lack of NO – the underestimated risk

Modern lifestyles, unhealthy diets, and stress often lead to reduced NO levels. An NO level that is too low can impair blood vessels, worsen circulation, and in the long term lead to serious health problems such as arteriosclerosis.

However, the nitric oxide (NO) level in the body can be positively influenced by healthy lifestyle factors. Supplementing with citrulline leads to an increase in arginine flow and the amino acid arginine is the starting substance for the formation of NO.

Why Citrulline instead of Arginine?

Arginine is the direct precursor of NO, but when taken orally, a large proportion is already broken down. Citrulline, on the other hand, is metabolized more slowly, increases blood arginine levels much more significantly, and provides more sustained NO production.

"Citrulline supplementation led to an increase in arginine flux and to a greater increase in plasma arginine concentration than arginine supplementation itself. While citrulline escaped first-pass metabolism, 70% of the supplemented arginine disappeared before it reached the peripheral circulation."

(Marini et al. 2017

Studies show that citrulline is the more efficient choice for raising NO levels and improving athletic performance over the long term. Edubily uses citrulline in the well-known malate form (citrulline malate) for this powder.

The perfect formula – Edubily Citrulline Plus

In addition to citrulline malate, this product contains other valuable ingredients:

  • Vitamin C: Helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
  • Folic acid and vitamin B12: Support energy metabolism and cell division.
  • Glycine: Promotes recovery and muscle building.
  • Taurine: Supports fluid balance and cell hydration.
  • Pomegranate extract: Rich in antioxidants to support vascular health.

With this well-thought-out combination, you get a highly effective product that is based on scientific findings and proves itself in practice.

Frequently asked questions & answers from Edubily

What do I need citrulline for?

Citrulline Plus supports blood flow, improves the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, and stimulates metabolism. It is ideal for athletes who want more pump, energy, and power during training.

How much L-Citrulline is in Edubily's product?

The main ingredient in Citrulline Plus is citrulline malate, which consists of 68.38% L-Citrulline. Per serving, that equals just under 3.5 g of pure L-Citrulline. Edubily uses citrulline malate because it has been studied in numerous studies – and there is also evidence that malate itself may have positive effects.

Why is no arginine included?

Citrulline alone is enough – because the body converts it into arginine while also inhibiting enzymes that break down arginine. As a result, citrulline leads to a higher arginine level than taking arginine directly. In addition, arginine is partly metabolized in the intestine before it can take effect, while citrulline is not.

Is nitric oxide (NO) not harmful?

There are many myths around so-called “nitrosative stress”. What matters: it only becomes problematic when the body is not sufficiently supplied with arginine or citrulline, as a stable nitric oxide level is essential for numerous body functions.

Who is Citrulline Plus Powder suitable for?

Citrulline is especially interesting for athletes – whether in endurance or strength training. It can boost performance, delay fatigue, and improve recovery.

Citrulline can also be beneficial for non-athletes, especially if poor circulation is an issue, for example due to long periods of sitting in everyday life.

Who should avoid citrulline?

People with existing or potential cardiovascular conditions should discuss taking citrulline malate with their doctor beforehand.

People with rheumatoid arthritis may produce more antibodies against citrullinated proteins (ACPA) due to citrulline, which can promote autoimmune reactions. People with elevated blood sugar levels should also avoid it, as their citrulline levels are already elevated. In addition, citrulline can lower blood pressure, which may be problematic for people who already have low blood pressure.

Are there side effects with citrulline malate?

Stomach issues such as nausea can occur if citrulline malate is taken on an empty stomach. We therefore recommend not taking the product while fasted, but consuming it with a meal or a shake.

Which form of vitamin B12 is included?

It contains hydroxocobalamin and methylcobalamin – two active forms of vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin is not included.

There is a sachet with beads in the powder. Should it be in there?

Yes, this desiccant sachet should stay in the container. It protects the powder from moisture so it does not clump. The sachet is safe for health and biodegradable.

Why does the powder clump?

The ingredients are hygroscopic and draw moisture from the air, which can lead to clumping. This does not affect the quality, but it can be minimized through correct storage and by shaking the bag regularly.
