PURE Choline Capsules – with highly bioavailable CDP-Choline

Choline is a water-soluble, essential nutrient often associated with B vitamins, although it technically does not belong to this vitamin group. The PURE Choline Capsules from Edubily contain 500 mg of CDP-Choline (also known as "Citicoline"), which corresponds to 100 mg of pure choline.CDP-Choline is one of the most effective forms of choline and is characterized by excellent bioavailability.

The Edubily Choline Capsules from the PURE range contain the clinically researched branded raw material Cognizin®, which is particularly pure and well absorbed by the body.

The PURE range promises that only what is stated is included: in this case, pure CDP-Choline. The product contains no additives.

What is choline and why is it so important?

Choline: An often underestimated micronutrient

Choline was long considered merely semi-essential – a nutrient that the body can generally produce on its own, but whose needs should be met through diet during certain life stages (e.g., growth or pregnancy).Today we know: The daily requirement is around 400 mg – a value that up to 90% of the population in Western countries do not reach. A possible reason for this is genetic variants in the PEMT gene, through which choline is predominantly synthesized – these can reduce the body's own production. The requirement is particularly increased in pregnant and breastfeeding women and is about 500 mg per day.

Choline Sources in the Diet

Choline is primarily found in animal products. Liver (around 400 mg per 100 g) and egg yolk (about 150 mg per piece) provide particularly high amounts. Lecithin from soy or sunflowers also represents a suitable plant-based choline source – especially for people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Choline as a Component of Important Structures

In both nutrition and the body, choline is usually not present in free form but is bound as a so-called phospholipid – also known as lecithin. In this form, choline is linked with fatty acids. It is an important component of cell and mitochondrial membranes as well as lipoproteins, which are formed in the liver and involved in fat metabolism. Furthermore, the neurotransmitter acetylcholine is formed from choline, which plays a role in signal transmission between nerve and muscle as well as in memory functions. Choline is also involved in the formation of S-adenosylmethionine – an important methyl group donor.

Why You Should Pay Attention to Choline Supply

For many decades, it has been known that insufficient choline intake can impair the formation of phospholipids—and thus also lipoproteins. This can promote changes in fat metabolism. Muscle functions and other metabolic processes can also be affected. To support daily intake, targeted supplementation with choline capsules can be beneficial—especially when there is an increased need.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers by Edubily

What are the benefits of choline for the body?

Choline is a component of cell membranes and mitochondrial membranes. It is also a lipoprotein produced by the liver that transports fats and cholesterol. In this context, a choline deficiency leads to fat accumulation in the liver.Additionally, choline is used to produce the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which plays an important role in nerve-muscle communication, memory, and neural development. However, 90% of people in Western nations consume too little choline to meet the daily requirement of approximately 400 mg.

What is special about CDP-Choline?

CDP-Choline is a highly bioavailable form of choline. The branded raw material Cognizin® is absorbed particularly quickly and offers optimal effects for the brain, nerves, and energy metabolism.

Does the product contain fillers or other additives?

No, the PURE Choline capsules contain only CDP-Choline in a vegan capsule shell made of HPMC.

Is the product vegan?

Yes, both the CDP-Choline contained and the capsule shell are purely plant-based and therefore vegan.

Ich bin rundum zufrieden. Auch wenn 250mg bei mir auch ausreichend wären, da ich von Natur aus schon sehr aktiv bin.
