High-quality Omega-3 fish oil in capsule form

Are you looking for a high-quality Omega-3 supplement for your active lifestyle? The Omega-3 capsules from Edubily provide you with highly concentrated Omega-3 oil with a 70% triglyceride content, perfectly balanced in a 2:1 ratio (EPA:DHA).Thanks to the bioavailable triglyceride form, your body can optimally absorb and utilize the valuable fatty acids. The oil comes in small capsules that are easy to swallow.

Why is Omega-3 so important for your health?

For many years, it has been known that Omega-3 fatty acids are indispensable for the body and therefore must be supplied through the diet.

The following health claims are approved for omega-3 fatty acids:

    • DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function
    • DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision
    • DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure
    • EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function
    • DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels

The question of the optimal daily amount of these fatty acids is still being intensely discussed in the scientific community. However, it is certain: With an average intake of about 50–200 mg daily, the supply in our latitudes is insufficient. Worldwide, the intake for many people is even below 100 mg DHA per day. Research findings – including those from Prof.

William Harris, one of the leading experts in the field and co-developer of the Omega-3 Index, suggests that 1–2 g daily could be a reasonable target.

The role of DHA and EPA the regulatory messengers of Omega-3

Since the human body cannot produce these essential fatty acids on its own, they must be obtained through diet. Originally, animal research suggested that the plant-based Omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid was sufficient. However, this is different and significantly more complex in humans:

For Omega-3 fatty acids to fulfill their important functions in the body, alpha-linolenic acid must first be elongated by the enzyme elongase and then provided with additional double bonds by desaturase. Only then do the bioactive forms DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) emerge.Since this conversion process in the human body is inefficient, only a small portion of alpha-linolenic acid is converted into DHA and EPA. Therefore, an Omega-3 intake from plant sources (apart from some algae) is insufficient.

The already bioactive DHA and EPA are found almost exclusively in marine organisms and certain microalgae. However, since seafood is consumed relatively little in Western culture, Omega-3 supplementation makes sense.

Providing the body with sufficient amounts of DHA and EPA should not be neglected, as these fatty acids serve as precursors for docosanoids and eicosanoids in the body—essential messengers that control numerous regulatory processes—thus playing a central role in the organism. These regulatory messengers act, among other things, as antagonists to pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids such as arachidonic acid and help influence inflammatory processes.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers from Edubily

    Why have the prices increased?

The fishing season was affected by the El Niño climate phenomenon, which significantly limited the availability of Omega-3 raw materials. This led to higher crude oil prices and supply bottlenecks.

What is the difference between triglycerides and ethyl esters?

In our capsules, we exclusively use the naturally occurring triglyceride form (TG for short). In this form, the fatty acids EPA and DHA consist of three fatty acid molecules bound to a glycerol molecule. This results in higher bioavailability compared to ethyl esters, allowing for better utilization.

    What is DHA?

DHA is one of the three omega-3 fatty acids. It is primarily involved in brain functions (cognitive performance, concentration, memory).

    What is EPA?

EPA is also one of the three omega-3 fatty acids. It is particularly important for normal heart function.

What is the capsule shell made of?

The capsule shell is made of bovine gelatin.

    Is the Omega-3 vegetarian/vegan?

No, it is derived from fish oil and the capsule shell contains gelatin.

Is the product lactose and gluten-free?

Yes, the capsules are free from lactose and gluten.

Who are the Omega-3 capsules suitable for?

They are ideal for anyone who eats little or no fish or has an increased need for Omega-3.

Can pregnant and breastfeeding women take the capsules?

Yes, especially if there is insufficient Omega-3 intake. If uncertain, a consultation with a doctor or midwife should be conducted.

How can one recognize an Omega-3 deficiency?

An Omega-3 deficiency manifests in various ways. The following symptoms frequently occur:
    • Difficulty concentrating
    • Reduced blood circulation
    • Sleep problems
    • Scaly and dry skin
    • Cardiovascular diseases/high blood pressure
    • Light sensitivity and reduced vision
