Coated steel cables for increased durability 

RPM Training's coated steel cables are rubber-sheathed and therefore more suitable for rough surfaces than bare steel cables.
Note: However, on very rough surfaces, such as concrete, all types of cables have a shorter service life.

More feedback thanks to the cable being easier to see and hear

Because of the coating, the cables are a bit heavier and slower than the bare ones, but this makes it easier to see and hear where the cables are in the air.
This is a big help when learning double unders, because it makes it easier to time the jumps with the rotation of your hands.
The bright colors of the coated cables are especially helpful here.
