Edubily Vegan Algae Oil with EPA & DHA: Your Eco-Friendly Source of Omega-3

If you're looking for a vegan way to add omega-3 to your diet, Edubily's highly concentrated algae oil is just what you need. That’s because valuable omega-3 fatty acids aren’t just found in fish oil, but also in the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. This algae is particularly rich in the marine fatty acids DHA and EPA and is cultivated in artificial seawater without harming the marine ecosystem.

What makes omega-3 fatty acids so valuable?

DHA and EPA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids that play a role in numerous physiological processes and are therefore essential for the body. For example, EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function. DHA also contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and brain function.

According to other approved health claims, DHA

Why algae oil instead of fish oil?

Most people associate omega-3 with fish oil. However, vegan algae oil is an equally high-quality source of DHA and EPA, as the necessary fatty acids are extracted directly from algae. It contains approximately 2,063 mg of EPA and DHA per serving and comes in a 100-ml glass bottle.

Algae oil provides a supplementary source of DHA and EPA, particularly for those on a fish-free diet; according to studies , it can affect DHA and EPA levels in a similar way to conventional fish oil.

The microalga Schizochytrium sp. can store up to 50 percent of its dry weight as lipids, with DHA generally accounting for 40 percent or more of this. However, the exact physiological role of DHA in the cells of Schizochytrium sp. has not yet been conclusively clarified. It is known, however, that DHA, in the form of membrane phospholipids, plays a significant role in membrane functions. Only about 5 percent of the lipids in Schizochytrium sp. are present as phospholipids, while 90 percent or more are typically found as triglycerides in the storage lipids. Thus, DHA and EPA in algae oil—as in fish oil—are present in their natural triglyceride form.

"All of the included studies reported that algae or algae oil, as a source of DHA, significantly improved DHA concentrations (including plasma, serum, platelet, and red blood cell fractions) as well as omega-3 indices in vegetarian populations."

Naturally mild in flavor

Many omega-3 products put people off with their strong fishy or oily taste. Edubily Algae Oil stands out with a mild lemon aroma, enhanced by rosemary extract. A clever combination of olive oil and a touch of sunflower oil stabilizes the valuable fatty acids and contributes to a pleasant taste. This makes the oil easy to take or simple to stir into various foods, such as yogurt.
